Reflections:
This assignment challenged me to develop a summary of my organization to assess its financial efficiency and sustainability. Since I inherited the financial situation of Ashe County 4-H when I started my job in 2019, I wasn’t aware of how significant our financial issues were. This project allowed me to take a deeper look into Ashe County 4-H finances from previous years and brought to light some major issues facing my program including the negative net margin brought on by issues within the 4-H Afterschool Program.

Through this analysis, I developed a better understanding of the financial environment within Ashe County 4-H and highlighted the necessity to discontinue the afterschool program. Not only did this give me a better understanding of the situation, it also equipped me with the ability to explain the situation to stakeholders, making the transition away from the afterschool program more understandable.
Overall, this course and the major assignments completed helped me understand financial management in the context of PRTS organizations and equipped me with skills needed to be a successful manager of the 4-H program in Ashe.
