Reflections:

The final project for GIS and Spatial Analysis involved creating an ArcGIS Story Map. This was my favorite amongst all projects completed throughout the program as it allowed me to get creative in researching and telling the story of the New River. Throughout the project, I utilized GIS to create a map of public access points for the river and then challenged myself to visit each site in order to get photos and descriptions of each site.

My inspiration for this project came from my own affinity for the New River and known challenges tourists experience in navigating the river and its access points. My goal for this project was to highlight how important the New River is and why it is important to conserve and protect the river. Additionally, I wanted to present greater ease of access to the river for those unfamiliar with the area by utilizing GIS software and use of local imagery. I am proud of the final product created and invite you to explore this ArcGIS Story Map.
